Sustainability

Ongoing Projects

Launching of Spain's first maritime-railway highway

We will facilitate the rail transport of truck semi-trailers from Italy by sea, thus reducing traffic on Spanish roads and reducing CO2 emissions.

This project will link, at first, the port of Valencia with Madrid and later the Valencia - Portugal service will be articulated.

Valencia - Madrid Railway Highway

  • Expected start date: March 2024
  • Frequency of four trains per week
  • Approximately 16,000 semi-trailers transported

Valencia - Portugal Railway Highway

  • Expected start date: March 2025
  • Frequency of three trains per week
  • Around 10,000 semi-trailers transported.

To achieve our objectives, we have established strategic agreements with various private and public companies. Among our strategic partners are: Adif, Puertos del Estado and IP. In addition, we have established contracts with important customers such as Transitalia, the wagon builder Tatravagonka, the crane manufacturer Grualia and EF Medway, among others.

PIONEERS IN GREEN HYDROGEN TRANSPORTATION

Green hydrogen will play a key role in the energy landscape in the near future by offering a clean, renewable and versatile energy source. Its ability to store energy, its applicability in transportation and industry, and its potential to generate electricity make green hydrogen an attractive option for addressing the energy and environmental challenges we face today.

The transport of hydrogen can present complications due to its low energy density, requiring high-pressure storage tanks to transport it.

At Tramesa, we are pioneers in Spain being able to transport green hydrogen through ammonia (PRR), thanks to a fleet of tank cars specially designed for this purpose.

These tank cars are built with resistant and airtight materials to prevent leaks and guarantee the integrity of the contents during transportation, and they are designed to withstand the pressure and temperature required for the transportation of liquid ammonia.

They have safety and monitoring systems to control all parameters. This helps to ensure safe transportation and minimize the risks associated with handling this substance.
